Visit Olympic hopefull track star Steve Prefontaine's childhood home and downtown Coos Bay memorial. Steve ran for Marshville High School in Coos Bay. Then visit the Coos Modern Art Museum, and the Maritime Museaum on the Bay. Then it's off to the antique shops.

Charleston Marine Museum offers visitors is a fantastic way to learn more about the sealife and oceanic animals that inhabit the Adventure Coast.  

Then we'll visit the Coos History Museum on the water in Coos Bay, and then back to Bandon to the Bandon City Museum.

Dean Creek Elk Viewing Area Visitors' Guide

The Bureau of Land Management maintains a series of pastures along Oregon Highway 38 that are a year-round residence for a herd of 60-100 Roosevelt elk. Elk are visible almost every day of the year!

Popular tourist stops along Hwy. 38 near Reedsport. Visitors are treated to up-close views of Roosevelt elk, with the herd sometimes reaching as many as 120 elk. Mountains, meadows and marshes are also home to beaver, muskrat, mallards, Canada geese and great blue heron.

Starting with the Bandon Lighthouse we will begin our photographic tour and then stop by the Cape Arago Light house on the Adventure Coast. About 45 miles north is the Umpqua Lighthouse just north of Reedsport and we will view the ocean from the lookout.
